Announcement and call for financial support to the Youth Philharmonic Naissus

After winning two Gold medals in Prague and Bratislava and IV places in Vienna, Youth Philharmonic Naissus, for the first time in the history of Serbia, invited to participate at the world competition of Youth Orchestras in Los Angeles, from 14th, to 18th, June 2015.

During this period, it will have a competitive performance in the most prestigious concert hall in the world WALT DISNEY Hall, as well as evening concert in the Disney park in LA. Also, members of the orchestra attendees one-day Masterclass with obtaining a certificate, which will lead to superior Conductor, educator Lawrence Sutherland.

Studied: College of Architecture, Nis 1960-1964

Studied fine art and decorative painting in Belgrade, Venice, Paris and Amsterdam.

The appeal of Lale Djuric's handsome screens, whether installed in a home or a commercial environment, is both sculptural and pictorial. Djuric first worked as a stage designer for the National Theater in Belgrade. Moving to Paris, he executed murals for the design firm Dalmas.

Prayer Book

The Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Western America is pleased to announce the publication of a beautiful pocket-size, full-color, English-language Prayer Book, which has been compiled and designed by our newly enthroned His Grace, Bishop Maxim, and printed in Serbia. The book contains prayers commonly used by Orthodox Christians, lists of Scriptural Commandments, and brief articles on the precepts of Faith, proper conduct in church, and the meaning and practice of prayer. It is adorned with striking icons and illustrations by Fr. Stamatis Skliris, a parish priest in Athens who is renowned as an iconographer and as a writer and lecturer on Byzantine iconography. Full-color on coated stock throughout, 36 pages, 3¾" × 5½" format, paperback, saddle-stitched.
